In Kindergarten you learned important things like play nice…share with your friends… and don’t run with scissors. This day and age it is imperative that we keep our minds fresh and continue to learn more each and every day. What is my source of inspirational learning? Twitter. So, just for today I wanted to forget about business and talk about other, equally exciting, reasons you should be tweeting your heart out. Here are my personal favorites:
- Follow Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) – Before reading his blog, I didn’t know anything more about wine other than you get a headache when you drink too much.
- Research all the Top 10’s you can think of (@MariamCook: Top 10 biggest social media stories of 2009: http://vator.tv/n/c66). Or check out #top10 for more top 10 lists.
- Ask for jokes when you are bored- RT @LoriRobinson – Guy walks into a bar with a duck on his head, bartender asks “Can I help ya?” and the duck says “Yeah, get this guy off my ass.”
- Take a poll (Boxers, Briefs, or None.)
- Read Haiku Poem Tweets/ They can be quite beautiful/ And twitterific (Yep, there’s a Haiku for you)
- VERY IMPORTANT: Block the naked people (do I really need a link here??)
- Do important research…How to make a martini : RT @AutismZazzle: How to make candy cane martinis. Great Christmas drink http://www.squidoo.com/candy-cane-martini
- Having a bad day? Blame Drew’s Cancer on #blamedrewscancer
- Follow your favorite sports team or sports star (and all the scandal that goes with it… ahem Tiger + 14)
- Crash someone’s Tweetup
- Keep up to date on ways to make fun of your boss (if you dare. Check out this YouTube video of what not to do at an office party)
- For all you Tech Junkies – search for the cutting edge technology so you can have it before your friends.
- Find somewhere good to eat and know where NOT to eat…EVER
